I am happy to report that this morning, Governor Charlie Baker signed the FY 2023 Budget. Included is our 12.5% raise, retroactive to July 1. This was a long journey and involved many players. I want to thank the compensation committee including Clerk Michael Sullivan, Clerk Dan Hogan and Registrar Matthew McDonough. I also want to thank our lobbyists Jack Murphy, Maureen Glynn and Kathy Bell for their invaluable assistance and advice throughout this process. I wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Governor Charlie Baker, Speaker Ronald Mariano, President Karen Spilka, Chairman Aaron Michlewitz, Chairman Michael Rodrigues, Chairman Michael Day and Chairman James Eldridge. The pay raise will be implemented by the Trial Court as follows:
Judges can expect that the new salaries will be entered into payroll during the pay period starting on July 31, 2022 through August 13, 2022. Judges should expect to see the new pay rate in the paychecks they receive on August 19, 2022. Retroactive compensation will be calculated for the period from July 1, 2022 through July 30, 2022, and this will be entered into payroll the following pay period, and in paychecks received on September 2, 2022.
Hon. Matthew J. Machera
