Dear Colleagues:
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
I wanted to report more good news. Early this morning, the House and Senate agreed on an IT Infrastructure Bond Bill of $164 million for the Trial Court. Specifically, $94 million to establish digital courthouses and courtrooms, $35 million to establish modern security systems in the judiciary and $35 million to modernize technology for court administrative operations.
I would like to thank Speaker Ronald Mariano, President Karen Spilka, Chairman Aaron Michlewitz, Chairman Michael Rodrigues, Chairman Michael Day and Chairman James Eldridge. I also want to recognize the outstanding leadership of Chief Justice Kimberly Budd and Chief Justice Jeffrey Locke in getting this legislation passed. Finally, I want to thank Georgia Christly, Senior Counsel for Governmental Affairs for the Massachusetts Trial Court for her tireless effort on this Bill.
This is important legislation that will help us in our mission to deliver justice with dignity and speed. Again, on behalf of the MJC, a most sincere thanks to all of you.
Sincerely,
Matthew J. Machera President MMachera@Verizon.net 617-272-5491
